TeamHealth is currently seeking an emergency medicine physician to join our team at the Baptist Health System in Montgomery, Alabama. As an emergency medicine physician, you will provide high-quality medical care to patients who require emergency treatment. You will work in a fast-paced environment and be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries. Responsibilities:
- Provide medical care to patients in the emergency department
- Perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries
- Prescribe medications and treatments as needed
- Consult with specialists and refer patients for further care when necessary
- Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care in the electronic medical record system
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Collaborate with nurses, physician assistants, and other healthcare providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency medicine practices and guidelines
- Participate in continuing medical education activities and professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
- Board certification or eligibility in emergency medicine, internal medicine or family medicine
- Current Alabama medical license or eligibility to obtain one
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
