TeamHealth has an an excellent opportunity available for an emergency medicine physician to join our team at Down East Community Hospital in Machais, Maine. This 8,000 annual volume emergency department offers 24-hour shifts. Located in beautiful and picturesque Maine, this hospital is within driving distance from Portland and Bangor. Qualified candidates should be board certified or board eligible in emergency medicine or be primary care boarded with emergency medicine experience. This opportunity also qualifies for H-1B cap-exempt status. Down East Community Hospital

Down East Community Hospital (DECH) is a 25-bed acute care facility that offers state-of-the art technology and specialty services almost unheard of in a small rural hospital. DECH hospital serves the need of our immediate community in Machias and all of Washington County, bordered by New Brunswick to the northeast and the Bay of Fundy. In early 2016, DECH launched a Capital Campaign to expand the emergency department to have a larger, more modern, more patient-friendly emergency department to help assist our physicians and nurses in providing high-quality care. Features of the new emergency department include 9 private rooms with state of the art patient monitoring equipment, a newly designed entrance area providing better access to patients including a more comfortable waiting area for patients and families, and more.
