Job Description

TeamHealth has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our talented Critical Care team in Englewood, New Jersey. Our 12-bed closed medical surgical ICU is responsible for the critical care treatment of all medical and surgical patients in the hospital. It is an academic program with residents from Internal Medicine and Anesthesiology programs including 8 intensivists with a background in Anesthesiology and Internal Medicine manage the unit. Under the supervision of the ICU attending physician or designate, the primary responsibility of the advanced practice clinician is to provide direct clinical services for critically ill adult patients. The advanced practice clinician is responsible for bedside comprehensive assessments, creating differential diagnoses, ordering appropriate testing, coordinating and planning management of ICU patients. The advanced practice clinician is expected to excel in interdisciplinary collaboration in the provision of patient care. The Critical Care Advanced Practice Clinician must: be able to adapt quickly to changing and fluctuating workloads; possess strong prioritization and assessment skills; be accountable with sound decision making and interpersonal and communication skills; be self-motivated, compassionate and able to work effectively within a team environment. Primary duties include ventilator management, central line, arterial line and temporary dialysis catheter placement, critical care IV medication management, participation in codes on the unit, and admissions. Point of care ultrasound skills are preferred, but not required for this position. The available position is 3 pm to 11 pm, Monday-Friday with no required weekends or holidays. Candidates must have prior Critical Care experience to apply.
