    Strawberries and dinosaurs...?

What do dinosaurs and strawberries have in common? Not much, unless you are in Plant City. Long before interstate highways, the railroads marked the path of progress across Florida. Around the same time, a succulent red fruit was introduced to the region. It began simply as a garden crop by early residents in the area, but eventually became so popular in local gardens that surplus was sold, and the strawberry industry was born. Blessed with abundant natural resources and rich farmland, Plant City provides a wealth of opportunity. Just east of Tampa in a wonderful location near Tampa Bay, this small, warm, and friendly community has been ranked as one of the top 25 choice cities in terms of quality of life, cost of living, cultural activities, and educational opportunities. Tampa Bay remains one of the fastest growing metropolitan regions in the country.
