TeamHealth is seeking a dedicated and compassionate hospitalist admitting physician to join our dynamic team at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, Georgia. As a hospitalist, you will play a vital role in the care of our admitted patients, working closely with specialists, nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes. Our team at St. Mary's serves as the core teaching faculty for an internal medicine (IM) residency program, so if you are passionate about teaching, this position is a great fit for you! Responsibilities:- Perform initial assessments and admissions of patients from the emergency department or direct transfers
- Collaborate with consulting physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Conduct thorough history and physical examinations upon admission
- Develop treatment plans and update families on patient progress
Qualifications:- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board-certified or board-eligible in internal medicine (IM) or family medicine (FM)
- Active medical license to practice in Georgia
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Shift Details:- Admitting shift is 12 hours from 10am to 10pm
- Schedule is 7 days on and 7 days off
- No outpatient duties or call required
