TeamHealth has an excellent opportunity for a full-time physician to join our emergency department team at Georgetown Community Hospital in Georgetown, Kentucky. Real estate is booming, and you have the opportunity to practice emergency medicine in a facility with a family-like atmosphere, strong advanced practice clinician support, and plenty of specialty back-up to make your shifts enjoyable.

Our newly renovated 15-bed ED has a 25,000 annual patient volume averaging 1.9 patients per hour with low-medium acuity. EMR is MedHost and we provide supportive and well-staffed nursing, as well as an integrated Hospital Medicine program. We ask that you be board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine or Internal Medicine. Other requirements include current ATLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. J1 physicians are encouraged to apply!

The hospital continues to add new medical services and grow the number of specialist and primary care physicians. It also features a newly renovated, 6-bed ICU, a Med/Surg Unit and a 24-hour Emergency Services Department. State-of-the-art equipment includes MRI, Lithotripsy, two CT Scanners and Ultrasound. Medical services include Allergy, Anesthesiology, Cardiac Rehab/Cardiology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Hematology/Oncology, Family Practice, Gynecology, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Occupational Therapy, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, Pathology, Pediatrics, Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine, Podiatry, Radiation Oncology, Radiology and Urology. Surgical services include: Bariatric (Weight-Loss), Colon-Rectal, ENT, Gynecological, Orthopedic and Urology. A recognized Center for Excellence, the Bariatric Center offers a minimally invasive weight loss surgery program, which was named a Top Five national program by Obesity Help magazine.

 

Quaint, historic Georgetown! Georgetown and Scott County, Kentucky, are ideally located just 10 miles north of Lexington, the Horse Capital of the World. The city is a blend of old and new, and Georgetown is noted for its profusion of historic houses and fine antiques shopping. Area back roads offer beautiful horse farms, Irish fieldstone fences, the meandering Elkhorn and Eagle Creeks, and rolling fields of tobacco and cattle. There are small, quaint communities like Stamping Ground and Sadieville. Elkhorn Creek, the inspiration for Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman, is favored by canoeists and fishermen. Other outdoor recreation includes camping, nature walks, golf, tennis, and swimming.
