TeamHealth has an excellent opportunity for a full-time emergency medicine physician to join our team at St. Mary's Healthcare Amsterdam in Amsterdam, New York. This is an independent contractor position with professional liability insurance and tail coverage included. The facility is a 150-bed community hospital, with a 16-bed emergency department (ED), fast track ED, and sees an annual volume of 30,000/year. Cases are medium to high acuity, there is a 17% admission rate, and a non-designated trauma center. There are 24 hours of physician coverage per day, with 12 hours advanced practice clinician (APC) coverage. Physician schedules are 12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 7:00, seeing an average of 1.6 to 2 patients per hour, and have an exceptional relationship with our hospital medicine program and nursing staff. We are accepting applications from board certified ABEM and AOBEM physicians, or within 5 years of completing residency, with ACLS, ATLS, infection control, and PALS certifications. Candidates should have a New York license/CSR and DEA prior to the start date with the ability to relocate to the area or travel into the community for blocked shifts.
