Job Description

TeamHealth is hiring for a PRN internal medicine (IM) or family medicine (FM) physician to do primary care rounding in skilled nursing facilities in the Spokane, Washington, area. As primary care physician in the skilled nursing facility setting you will experience:
  • A diverse patient population: working with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgery, managing chronic conditions, or in need of rehabilitation offers valuable experience in treating a range of medical conditions.
  • An interdisciplinary collaboration: collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals and enhance patient care by incorporating different perspectives and expertise.
  • Long-term relationships: building rapport over time can lead to better continuity of care, improved patient outcomes, and a sense of fulfillment in providing ongoing support to individuals in need.
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Perform primary care in a post-acute setting for short-term and long-term patients
  • Manage chronic disease, diagnose illnesses and medical conditions, and implement plan of care
  • Order and interpret lab results
  • Prescribe and monitor medications
  • Consult with and coordinate patient care with other healthcare practitioners
  • Educate patients and their caregivers on coping skills to handle chronic and age-related conditions
  • Build relationships with your patients, patients' family members, and facility staff to facilitate effective treatment delivery
  • Promote healthy lifestyle changes
Requirements: 
  • New grads accepted 
  • Post-acute care experience a plus, but not required
  • Active and unrestricted Washington license required 
  • Active and unrestricted Washington DEA required 
Our compensation is a productivity-based model (Fee for Service) that offers you control to maximize your income potential. Expected compensation is estimated salary range of $26,000 annually to $60,000/annually. This PRN role is not benefit eligible.
